Documentos:
The success of the open access and similar movements are increasingly opening up a vast amount of information to anyone with good internet access. With this development the problem of access is now shifting to the utilization and management of this newly available knowledge. Information literacy is a critical set of skills which needs to be learnt in order to make effective use of this opportunity. These skills involve technological, social, and conceptual aspects as well as critical analysis. For developing countries, the acquisition of writing and publishing skills in multiple formats is particularly important so that their voices can be effectively heard on global issues specially those involving health. The presentation will focus on challenges, developments and opportunities in this area.
